Counter Drone Systems
R&S ARDRONIS are being installed to boost safety and security in more than 100 locations globally
The Rohde & Schwarz ARDRONIS is a robust system that provides early warning capability to detect RC activity that is complementary to other approaches such as radar, electro-optical and acoustic, resulting in zero false detections.
When the system detects drone activity, it automatically classifies the type of drone signal, determines the direction of the drone and its pilot, and (on command) disrupts the radio control link to prevent the drone from reaching its target.
The power of the system comes from the superior performance of the wideband direction finder which is also a very popular equipment used in high end COMINT Systems in many military forces worldwide.
In Qatar, the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) has increased security by investing in sophisticated counter drone solutions to monitor spectrum during the major events hosted in Qatar such as the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022.
CRA worked with MOSECO Qatar and our international partners Rohde & Schwarz to boost its National Monitoring Center with solutions to locate and disrupt the unauthorized drones and their operators that pose a threat to public safety, especially during high-profile events.
The technology also utilizes Smart Jammers, commonly referred to as deceptive jammers or digital radio frequency memory (DRFM) jammers. Based on their technology, they are used by the defense industry worldwide in electronic attack and defense suites to deceive hostile radars and protect friendly assets.
